CORE represents the standard of "Excellence". The expectation at Core Hockey Training, we will provide a winning performance in every session. "Excellence" is what we will achieve with each player, leaving them with more knowledge and a passion to improve their Core Skills!
At Core Hockey, we have a team of experienced coaches and trainers who are dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential on and off the ice. Our founder and lead coach, Blair Becker, has over 25 years of experience coaching hockey at all levels, from youth to Junior. Our team of contributors includes professional hockey players and coaches who bring their extensive knowledge and experience to our program.

Founder & Lead Coach
Blair Becker
Founder of CORE HOCKEY. Blair is an experienced hockey coach with 25 years in coaching/mentoring, spanning from novice to junior levels. Notable roles include Head Coach at Louis St Laurent Hockey Academy, former Assistant Coach with Camrose Kodiaks, coaching various Team Alberta teams (Western Challenge Cups, Canada Games) with achievements in national and international competitions. Holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, degree in Education and is certified by Hockey Canada.
Hockey Coach
Tony Orsini
Dedicated to skill development at every level, prioritizing game sense for players to understand, read, and react in hockey. Committed to Long Term Athletic Development, recognizing individual uniqueness, and adapting coaching for holistic success. Instilling confidence and character in a safe, fun atmosphere for lifelong impact. With a coaching background, including successful stints with Alberta Cup teams, CAC coaching roles, and contributions to player development across various programs, I continue to mentor and instruct, fostering growth and excellence in hockey.

Ethan Maertens-Poole
Experienced coach with a diverse background: Head Coach roles in Minor Midget AAA and Midget AA, Assistant Coach at CAC MMAAA and CAC MM 15 AA. Previous leadership as Head Coach at MLAC Bantam AA. Also affiliated with Gold in the Net from 2010 to 2016.
Hockey Coach
Luke Procop
Player turned coach who began his journey at the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy, where his leadership as Bantam Assistant Captain and Allstar for the Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds set the stage for a remarkable career. Progressing to the NAX U18 Hockey Academy and then spanning the Calgary Hitmen, Hockey Canada U17 Team White, and NHL Draft selection by the Nashville Predators. Transitioning into coaching, Prokop debuted in leagues like the ECHL and AHL, symbolizing unwavering commitment to hockey excellence and courage.
Hockey Coach
Ryan Walker
Four years of hockey coaching experience ranging from assistant coaching u13 AA to head coaching u15 AA and u16 AA. Is also a coach at the Louis St. Laurent Hockey Academy. Other coaching experiences include u16 lacrosse and the Bauer First Shift Program. Is currently taking education degree at the University of Alberta with a minor in phys ed.
